Upper Island Assessment and Resource
Service has two Counsellors and an Administrative Assistant. Each
counsellor has registered status with the Board of Registration
for Social Workers in British Columbia, indicating they have solid
educational qualifications and a high level of competency. All counsellors
have specialized training and broad experience counselling individuals
and families.

Garth Greatheart , MSW RSW |

Garth is UIARS's Executive Director. Garth comes with 25 years of
experience in social work practice in counselling, program management
and adult education and training. Her specialities are working
with clients with grief and loss, alternative families and couples,
and terminal illness.
Garth works closely with our Board of Directors and member organizations
to ensure UIARS is responsive to and effective in meeting the needs
of affiliated members. For further information on the EFAP/ARS

Lorne Tippett, BSW, RSW |

Since 1997, Lorne has been providing counselling services for both
the Campbell River and Comox Valley offices. He has worked extensively
with youth and with men. His keen interest in blended family issues
and trauma recovery work are a great asset to our organization.

| Kelsi
Baine, MSc, CCC |
|
Kelsi joined
the staff team in December 2007 and provides counselling in our
Port McNeill and Campbell River offices. Kelsi's experience includes
individual and family counselling, in particular relationship abuse
issues. She has a special interest in the impact to relationships
when couples have children.

| Joan
is UIARS's Administrative Assistant. She plays an important role
in helping our office run smoothly and in making sure that people
feel comfortable when phoning or entering our office. She is often
the first voice you will hear when you call UIARS. If you have a
question about office hours, booking an appointment or just want
more information about how the counselling office works, Joan would
be most helpful.

Betty Ann shares the adminiatrative
assistant role with Joan, working one day a week and taking care
of the office when Joan is away on holidays. |
