The
Upper Island Assessment and Resource Service Society (UIARS) provides
an Employee and Family Assistance program to member companies and
their 5000 employees and families from the Comox Valley to North
Vancouver Island. We require a qualified, experienced counsellor
part-time to provide services for our clients in our Campbell River
and Port McNeill offices.
Job
Summary:
Provide assessment, short term counselling, resource
information and referral to employees, families and retirees of
member organizations.
The counsellor is responsible to and directly
supervised by the Executive Director of the UIARS.
Position is 2.5 days per week (18 hours), with
possibility of increased hours in the future.
Requires willingness to work flexible hours,
including some early evenings.
Travel to Port McNeill office (appx twice a month).
Paid travel time, mileage, and expenses reimbursed.
Salary in accordance with professional standards.
Duties
and Responsibilities :
Conducts assessment for clients presenting with
a wide range of personal and family difficulties.
Provides short-term counselling to individuals,
couples, families or groups as necessary.
As appropriate, provides clinical referral to
community resources.
Maintains clinical casenotes on computerized
program.
Qualifications
Required :
Masters of Social Work, Clinical Counsellor or
similar academic training in a related discipline.
Registration in a professional association.
Preferably at least 5 years experience, EAP counselling
experience as asset.
